Baker Bros BBQ Brings the Heat to Jackson
[Jackson, Tennessee, April 14] On a calm afternoon before the dinner rush began, Drew Baker and his team worked to prep, smoke, and cook dishes that they are quickly becoming known for at Baker Bros BBQ, a fun eatery with plenty of menu options as well as a bright atmosphere filled with music and pinball. When their journey began in 2018 to create their own restaurant that goes beyond just good food, Drew Baker was unsure of where their vision would lead.
“I’m immensely proud of what we have been able to accomplish here,” Baker said.
Now, they are recognized for their brisket recipe as well as the Alfred, which is half a pound of hamburger, brisket, bacon, cheese, pulled pork, slaw, and barbeque sauce all loaded onto a hearty bun. They also feature locally crafted beers from Hub City Brewing, which is a customer favorite. Brianna Cross, a server, describes the use of brisket in several dishes and recommends trying the hooch sauce to customers.
“If you don’t come to Baker Bros BBQ enough, you definitely should start coming more,” Cross said.
Beyond the food, customers can play on multiple affordable pinball machines located in the back of the restaurant. Each Wednesday evening, they also have the opportunity to participate in Open Mic Night or customers can enjoy live music from various local artists on different nights throughout the week, such as acoustic duo Maggie Nash and Shane Bastable on April 14. They performed various hits from artists like Fleetwood Mac and Paramore.
“If we’re consistent in service, food quality, entertainment, and how we maintain the restaurant, people are going to come,” Baker said.
